Bio

Pastors are called to churches to care for God’s Word and Sacrament. I am blessed to be able to do that here at Our Savior Lutheran Church together with a flock of wonderful disciples of Jesus.

I grew up on the North Shore (Lynn) and I think our church home here in Topsfield has a special place as an evangelical church here on the North Shore.

After St. Mary’s High in Lynn, I got my undergrad at Salem State, and then a Master’s at TCNJ in NJ. I worked as an Athletic Trainer in Sports medicine before attending seminary at Concordia Theological Seminary FW. I previously served churches on the UConn campus in Storrs CT, and Scituate MA. I have a love of New England, of many sports, and I’m joyfully married to Ann and we have 4 grown sons.

Kerry Trunfio

Director of Children, Youth and Family Life Ministries

Bio

Kerry has called the North Shore home all her life, growing up in Ipswich and attending Gordon College. She graduated from Gordon in 2012 with a degree in Christian Ministry with a Concentration in Youth Ministry. Kerry lives in Haverhill, MA with her husband, Joel and their two young daughters, Cora and Maya. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering with a local animal rescue as an adoption coordinator, and reading. She enjoys being a part of the Rooted Ministry Steering Committee and you can see her contributions to their ministry here.

Wendy Betts

Director of Music Arts, Organist

Bio

Wendy is Organist and Director of Music Arts. She leads our liturgical choir and handbell ensemble, as well as working with children and youth in song, instruments and drama.

Wendy moved to New England in 1996, feeling called by God to live and serve here at Our Savior Lutheran after being employed in churches in West Deptford, New Jersey, Wilmington, North Carolina, and Wilmington, Delaware. She teaches voice, piano, and organ.

She was formerly Director of the Cape Ann Symphony Chorus and founder/director of SharetheMusic.

She and husband Hank live in Rockport, MA. She is especially grateful to have her family (son Bill and Holly and grandchildren and daughter Brittany) very close by
